Wake Forest Set for First Appearance in Stephens Cup

JUNO BEACH, Fla. - The No. 2 Wake Forest women's golf team is looking for their third title of the fall season as they begin play at the Jackson T. Stephen's Cup Monday morning.
The Deacs are coming off a team win at the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate two weeks ago, their second title in two events so far this fall, with a tournament-record 272 in the final round of play. The Deacs also recorded the second-lowest team score in tournament history with their 21-under-par 831.
Senior Rachel Kuehn's 64 in the second round is the lowest single-round score for a player in the 25-year history of the event. Kuehn's 54-hole total of 10-under-par 203 is the second-lowest individual 54-hole score in the history of the event as well. The Asheville native followed up her second-round 64 with a final-round score of 68. She finished in a tie for second place on the individual leaderboard, just one stroke off the winner.
Sophomore Carolina Chacarra finished one stroke behind Kuehn, with a nine-under score of 204. All three of Chacarra's rounds were sub-70 for the second time in her collegiate career.
Wake Forest led all teams in scoring on par-four and par-five holes and also led the field in total pars for the event, registering 183. The team recorded the third-most birdies, coming in with 51.

Format
All teams will play 54 holes over two days to determine match play seeding for the final day. Monday, October 10 will consist of the first two rounds of stroke play and the final round of stroke play will be Tuesday, October 11. At the conclusion of Tuesday's play, the top four teams will advance to match play on Wednesday, October 12.
Live scoring will be available via Golfstat.

The three-day competition will be televised live on GOLF Channel. Live broadcasts will take place on each day of official tournament play: Monday, Oct. 10: 4-7 p.m. ET, Tuesday, Oct. 11: 3-6 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 12: 3-6 p.m.

About the Stephens Cup
The Jackson T. Stephens Cup is an annual collegiate golf tournament named in memory of the late Augusta National Chairman, Jackson T. Stephens. The tournament will feature NCAA Division I National Championship-contending men's and women's teams.
The Alotian Club in Roland, Ark., is the tournament's home course which started in October 2021. The 2022 tournament will be held at Seminole Golf Club, in Juno Beach, Fla., followed by the Trinity Forest Golf Club, in Dallas, Texas in 2023.
The tournament format will be 54 holes of stroke play, setting the field for a final day of match play based on the stroke-play team finish; the final day of match play will be 18 holes. The event will also recognize its 54-hole winners upon completion of stroke play. Tournament week will begin with a practice round and college-am fundraising tournament on Sunday of tournament week followed by three days of official tournament play.

- Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Florida may be the quintessential Donald Ross golf course. It's known for its broad fairways, restrained green undulations and vast variety of challenging bunkers. Founded in 1929, it was the last course Ross designed by the ocean, separated from the Atlantic by low dunes. It is truly a mecca for the greats of the game, from exalted amateurs to hall of fame professionals. Seminole has had a rich history in the game of golf and recently hosted the 48th Walker Cup Match which resulted in the United States Team victorious over the Great Britain & Ireland team 14-12.
