PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The Wake Forest women's golf team finished second out of 16 teams this week at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge and junior Rachel Kuehn won her second individual title of the year and fourth of her career.

The Deacs have now finished inside the top four in every event this season, with four wins, one second place, one third place and one fourth place finish. Kuehn's four career wins rank fifth-most all-time in the Wake Forest women's golf program. Her tournament score of 10 under par at 203 ties her career-low and is the fourth-lowest 54-hole score in program history. The win also earned her an LPGA exemption into the JTBC Championship at Palos Verdes next month.

Wake Forest continued to lead the field on par three scoring for the event and averaged the second-lowest score on par four holes. The Deacs' 175 pars and 41 birdies were good for third-best in the field and their two eagles tied for the best. Kuehn led all players in scoring on par three and par five holes and recorded the most birdies in the field with 16 over her 54 holes.

En route to her victory, Kuehn recorded three birdies on her first nine holes of the day to make the turn at three under for the day and 11 under for the tournament. A birdie on the par-five 16th kept her at 10 under and finished the day two under.

Carolina Chacarra jumped another eight spots on the board during the final round to finish T12 at four over. Virunpat Olankitkunchai had her best day on the last day, jumping 20 spots on the board with her third-round score of a one-under 70. After a birdie and two bogeys on the front, an eagle on the par-five 16th brought her to one under for the day and five over for the tournament.

Lauren Walsh also had her best day on the last two days, recording back-to-back 72s to jump the board seven spots and finish next to Olankitkunchai at T18. Mimi Rhodes finished T30 and Vanessa Knecht, playing as an individual, finished T54.

Coach's Comments
"The team played well coming down the stretch which is always a great way takeaway from any event. Rachel's individual win was a tournament record. What continues to impress me most about Rachel is her drive to continually improve and to put in the hours necessary to become the best she can be. This preparation has led to multiple tournament wins this year and now an LPGA exemption. Congrats to the team as a whole for playing hard and playing for each other, and congrats to Rachel winning her second title this year."  – head coach Kim Lewellen

Kuehn on winning and earning an LPGA exemption…
"This week has been incredible, and I feel fortunate to have won on such an amazing course. To receive a sponsor's exemption into the LPGA tournament here in a couple weeks is a dream come true. I can't wait to tee it up against the best players in the world at the end of April. I'm so thankful for this opportunity and I'm looking forward to coming back." – Rachel Kuehn
