Bush Earns Wake Forest Record Performance in Women’s Heptathlon at Bryan Clay Invitational

In addition to Anna Bush’s record-setting performance in the heptathlon, sophomore Addison Berry earned a personal best and top-five mark in program history on Thursday.

AZUSA, CALIFORNIA -- Following standout performances across multiple events in the women's heptathlon, redshirt senior Anna Bush earned a program record 5,587 points amidst an extremely talented and competitive field at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Over the course of seven events, the Australian native recorded one school record, four other top-10 marks in Wake Forest history and five personal bests.
 
Meanwhile, sophomore Addison Berry placed 12th in the heptathlon with a total score of 5,325 points. Her best event came on Thursday when she earned a personal best and the fifth-longest mark in program history in the long jump when she recorded a leap of 5.92 meters.

  • "This was a wonderful experience for Anna and Addison. A huge part of becoming a great combined-events athlete is learning how to deal with long travel and still put your best foot forward. Both of our women did that. Congratulations to Anna Bush on the huge Wake Forest program record. We are hopeful that this score can qualify her for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. In the meantime, our eyes are fixed on the ACC Championships."
