
Wake Forest to Face Syracuse in First Test of 2022 ACC Tennis Championships

Postseason play returns for the Demon Deacons.
ROME, GA - The spring postseason officially begins for Wake Forest women's tennis in the incoming days, as the Demon Deacons will head South to Rome, Georgia for the 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tennis Championships.
Wake Forest entered the field as a No. 7 seed and earned a first-round bye. The Deacs will face No. 10 Syracuse on Thursday, April 21, at 6 p.m.
The meeting between the two programs will be a rematch of last year's second round in the tournament, when Wake Forest defeated the Orange 5-0. The Deacons are 2-0 in an all-time series versus Syracuse at a neutral site.
In each of the past five seasons, Wake Forest has advanced past its first match of the ACC Championships.
The Event
The 2022 ACC Women's Tennis Championships kicks off Wednesday, April 20, at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Georgia with first-round play.
Second-round action is scheduled to start on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. before the quarterfinals take over Friday, also beginning at 3:30 p.m. The semifinals will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday, while the championship match is slated for 2 p.m. Sunday.
The Saturday semifinal match, featuring the highest remaining seed, and the Sunday championship match will be featured on ACC Network Extra.
Championship ticket passes are $25. One-day entry passes are $10 for adults and $7 for children (age 9-17) and non-ACC college students. Children (8 and under) and ACC college students (with a valid ID) are admitted free of charge.

Last month, the Deacs downed Syracuse on its home court, 6-1. Anna Brylin and Brooke Killingsworth picked up a ranked doubles win during the victory, while Brylin and Casie Wooten won solo matches in straight-sets.
