Wake Forest women’s golf has had a player in the event every year since they added females to the competition in 2018.
ORLANDO, Fla. – Wake Forest women's golfers Rachel Kuehn and Carolina Chacarra have been named to Team USA and Team International for the 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup at Golf Club de Geneve in Switzerland July 1-3.
After being held in the United States two years in a row for the first time due to COVID-19, this is the first time the event will be in Switzerland. This will be Kuehn's third appearance in the event and the first appearance for Chacarra. Kuehn and Chacarra were both named to the ANNIKA Award Watch List in March.
Kuehn joins former Wake Forest teammate Emilia Migliaccio as one of the only Americans to be selected for three Arnold Palmer Cup teams. Migliaccio made history at the event in 2021 as the only American, male or female, to be named to four Arnold Palmer Cup teams. Kuehn will be joined on Team USA with Wake Forest men's golfer Michael Brennan, who will be making his first appearance in the Arnold Palmer Cup.
Wake Forest women's golf assistant coach Ryan Potter was named the Team USA assistant coach back in November. Wake Forest head coach Kim Lewellen was the head coach of the winning Team USA at the 2021 Arnold Palmer Cup.
During her junior season, Kuehn has secured two individual titles and earned her second consecutive top 10 finish at ACC Championships, where the team took home the 2022 title. She won the Tar Heel Invite back in October with a record-breaking performance and won the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in March to earn an exemption into the LPGA Palos Verdes Championship at the end of the month. She leads the Demon Deacons with a stroke average of 70.70 over 27 rounds of competition.
In her freshman campaign, Chacarra became the first freshman to win multiple individual titles since the 1991-92 season. She won the UCF Challenge in February with a record-breaking performance of 19 under par and went on to win the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate two weeks later. She is second on the team with a stroke average of 71.56 over 27 rounds of competition.

The three-day event features:
- July 1 - "Four Ball" - A match in which each member of the two-person teams plays their own ball. Four balls are in play per hole with each of the four players recording a score on the hole. The team whose player posts the best score on that hole wins the hole. Should players from each team tie for the best score, that hole is halved.
- July 2 - "Foursome" - A match in which the golfers compete on a team against two other golfers and each side plays one ball. The golfers play alternate shots (player A hits tee shot, player B hits second shot, etc.) until the hole is played out. Team members alternate on the playing of tee shots, with one golfer hitting the tee shot on odd-numbered holes, and the other hitting tee shots from the even-numbered holes. The team with the better score wins the hole. Should the two teams tie for best score, the hole is halved.
- July 3 - "Singles" - A match in which one player plays against another player. A player wins the match when the player is up by more holes than there are holes remaining to play.
