
Demon Deacons Ready for NCAA Super Regional at No. 9 Kentucky

Saturday afternoon will feature a showdown in Lexington.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following a 2-0 showing during last weekend's hosted first two rounds of the 2022 NCAA Tournament, Wake Forest men's tennis steps into a Super Regional test versus Kentucky on Saturday (May 14).
The meeting will be the first between the No. 8 Demon Deacons (33-6) and No. 9 Wildcats (23-7) in over two years.
Wake Forest remains one of 16 teams left competing in the 2022 postseason, five of those programs being within the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Additionally, the Deacs have reached the Round of 16 for a total of eight times throughout program history.

Youth and senior tickets are priced at $8, adults will be $10 per ticket and children ages two and under will receive free admission.

LAST TIME OUT
Wake Forest got out in front and never looked back during a 4-1 win over No. 24 Auburn last Saturday (May 7) in Winston-Salem.
The Deacs improved to a 175-23 home record since head coach Tony Bresky took over the helm in 2012. This includes an impressive 105-4 record the past six seasons, as the Deacs hold a perfect 26-0 clip at home this season.
Wake Forest claimed the doubles point for the 30th time this season while improving to 28-2 whenever taking a 1-0 advantage. The doubles pairing of Ben Draper and Matthew Thomson got the first win of the evening on a 6-3 victory on court three.
No. 34 Siddhant Banthia/Jakob Schnaitter logged their 13th doubles win of the season (13-5) and second clinch of the weekend with a 6-4 triumph.

SCOUTING KENTUCKY
Kentucky enters the Super Regional after defeating DePaul, 4-0, last Friday (May 6) and Northwestern on Saturday (May 7) in a 4-2 result. UK's Round of 16 appearance is its first since 2014. The Wildcats hold a 31-30 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament.
Currently, UK is the No. 9 team within ITA rankings and has been slotted inside the Top-13 all season. A number of players remain ranked in either singles or doubles:
