
Wake Forest Earns National Recognition for Community Service

The Demon Deacons ranked 12th nationally as an athletics department for their efforts in giving back to the Winston-Salem and surrounding communities.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest athletics programs were recognized as one of the top in the country for their philanthropic efforts and community service over the past year.
The Demon Deacons ranked 12th nationally as an athletics department for their efforts in giving back to Winston-Salem and surrounding communities, showing the entire nation the Wake Forest Pro Humaniatate spirit. Additionally, the Deacs ranked third among all Power-5 programs throughout the year.
More than 300 NCAA universities use Helper Helper to track the work they are doing in the community, including 29 Power-5 institutions.
Seven of the Wake Forest programs ranked inside of the top 10 nationally for their respective sports including field hockey, football, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's track and field/cross country, women's track and field/cross country and volleyball. Only one other Power-5 program had more collective programs finish inside of the top 10.
Earlier this spring, the men's soccer program led by head coach Bobby Muuss were named the 2021-22 Helper Helper Team Community Service Challenge Champions, logging more than 950 hours of community service for 26 opportunities alongside 15 organizations.
In addition to earning national honors from Helper Helper, the men's soccer program finished fourth overall among all division-I men's teams across every NCAA sponsored sport.
