EUGENE, Ore. – Anna Bush and Emma Soderstrom capped off the 2022 outdoor season for the Demon Deacons, earning All-America Honorable Mentions on the last day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field.
Anna Bush rounded out the final three events of the heptathlon Saturday, earning herself 5361 points and finishing in 18th place overall. That gives her All-American Honorable Mention status.
In the women's high jump, Emma Soderstrom battled through adversity and placed 23rd with a height of 1.72m. She would also be named All-American Honorable Mention.
With the NCAA Outdoor Championships wrapped up, the Demon Deacons year will come to a close.
QUOTE FROM DIRECTOR OF TRACK AND FIELD JOHN HAYES
"Both ladies went out and fought. It wasn't their top performance so that was tough but every athlete of ours here at NCAA Championships learned a little about how to perform on this stage."
"We are proud of all five of these student-athletes. This meet is one of the most competitive in the world so to make it here means you are a top athlete. We continue to improve each year and I expect next year to be no different."
