This marks the sixth Demon Deacon that has been named to a national award watch list ahead of the 2022 season.
AUGUSTA, Ga. – A sixth different Demon Deacon football player was named to a nation award watch list ahead of the 2022 season as redshirt sophomore punter Ivan Mora was named to the Ray Guy Watch List, as announced Wednesday by the Augusta Sports Council.
Mora garnered preseason recognition after being named a nominee for the nation's top punter award in 2020 and 2021. In total, this is five consecutive years the Demon Deacons have had a member on the watch list for the top punter in the nation.
The complete list of candidates will be released on November 2nd. In mid-November, the Ray Guy Award committee will meet to select the ten semifinalists, who will be announced on November 8th.
A national body of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) sports information directors, media representatives and previous Ray Guy Award winners will then vote for the top three finalists to be announced on November 18th.
After the finalists are named, the voting body will cast ballots again to select the nation's top punter. The winner will be announced live during The Home Depot College Football Awards airing on ESPN in December 2022.
