Gebbia Announces Additions of Dunn and Kea to Staff

Katie Dunn will serve as the Director of Basketball Operations & Recruiting while Paris Kea will be the Video Coordinator & Assistant Director of Basketball Operations.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Head coach Megan Gebbia and the Wake Forest women's basketball program announced the addition of Katie Dunn and Paris Kea to her initial staff ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Katie Dunn will serve as the Director of Basketball Operations & Recruiting while Paris Kea will be the Video Coordinator & Assistant Director of Basketball Operations.
"We are thrilled to announce the addition of both Katie and Paris to our staff," Coach Gebbia said. "They both will come in and immediately help us in a lot of ways and make not only an impact in many off the court areas. Katie comes in with experience working at the Power-5 level while Paris had experience playing at the highest level both in college and in the WNBA. Their exposure at those levels will be invaluable for both myself and the entire staff."

Dunn comes to Winston-Salem after spending the last three year working with the Texas Exes, the association of former students of the University of Texas at Austin. Among other projects in this role she helped establish the Opportunity Scholarship program and welcome/steward first class through a pilot program in 2021-22.
From 2017-19, Dunn worked as a compliance coordinator at Kansas State where she helped maintain a comprehensive rules education program for all 14 sports, their athletes, coaches, and administrators.
Also in this role, Dunn served as liaison to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) while also oversaw the NCAA Transfer Portal database for student-athletes among other duties.
Prior to her role in compliance, Dunn spent four seasons serving as director of basketball administration for the Kansas State women's basketball program from 2013-17.
Dunn was responsible for a number of administrative duties while at Kansas State including: coordinating staff and team travel with regard to air/bus/rental vehicle/hotel meals/travel, money and budget management, traveling with the- team to manage all away game logistics, manage all home game logistics, on-campus recruiting logistics, training table table logistics, camp/clinic budgets, daily office operations, and direct program contact for all other KSA departments. She also served as direct team contact for community engagements and in charge of all communication with the team regarding non-athletic operations/events.
Prior to her appointment with the women's basketball program, Dunn completed her master's of academic advising degree from K-State.
From 2011-13, Dunn served as the graduate assistant academic counselor for the K-State men's basketball program. During this opportunity, Dunn aided in tutoring, advising and management of the academic paths of the K-State men's basketball student-athletes.
Before she earned her graduate degree in 2013, Dunn had served as a mathematical statistician with the United States Department of Agriculture in Columbia, Mo., from 2009-10.
Dunn also graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kansas State in 2008 with a bachelor of statistics and a bachelor of economics degree.
Dunn is married to her husband, Arin, and they a son, Reece.

Kea, a former guard at both Vanderbilt and North Carolina, comes to Wake Forest with high-level playing experience both collegiately and as a professional.
In 2019, the Indiana Fever selected Kea with the 25th pick in the WNBA Draft where she played in 11 games. During her rookie season, Kea averaged 2.6 points per game while shooting 55.6 percent from behind the arc. Ahead of the 2020 season, Kea signed with the New York Liberty where she suited up in 11 games, making five starts for the franchise. She ended the season with 6.9 points per game while also averaging 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists.
Her standout career with the Tar Heels included 2019 First Team All ACC and WBCA All-America Honorable Mention honors as a senior while helping North Carolina reach the NCAA Tournament.
Kea was the lone senior on the team, averaging 17.3 points, 3.9 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. This included a historic performance in a victory over No. 1 Notre Dame where she became the fourth Division I player in the last 20 years to have a 30-point, 10-assist game against a ranked opponent.
As a junior, she averaged 19.4 points per game, the 10th highest figure in North Carolina history, leading the ACC with four games scoring 30 or more points. Additionally, she finished in the top five in the league in six statistical categories: minutes (37.4), scoring (19.4), assists (4.8), 3FG shooting (.405), steals (2.1) and 20-point games (14).
The Greensboro, N.C. native and Page High School graduate was a member of the 2014 USA U18 National Team that posted a 5-0 record and won the 2014 FIBA Americas Championship gold medal. She graduated from Page High School as the all-time scoring leader in program history and a three-time AP All-State selection while also being a McDonald's All-America nominee after averaging 24.2 points and 7.1 rebounds as a senior.
