The redshirt junior quarterback was a finalist for the award a season ago after a record-breaking year that included single-season program marks of passing yards, completions and touchdown passes.

NEW ORLEANS – Wake Forest redshirt junior quarterback Sam Hartman was named to the Manning Award Watch List, as announced by the organization and the Allstate Sugar Bowl Monday afternoon.

The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting.

Hartman is one of five returning finalists from a season ago and the only from the ACC. Additionally, he is one of just two returning ACC finalists for the award.

The redshirt junior from Charlotte, N.C. was also named to three additional watch lists this offseason:

Finalists will be selected prior to the postseason and the winner will be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.
