Friedman Named to USA Indoor Hockey FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup Team

The two-time All-ACC and All-Region honoree was one of 14 athletes named to the World Cup roster. Team USA opens World Cup play on Sun. Feb. 5 at 3:50 a.m. ET against Australia.
PRETORIA, South Africa – Wake Forest field hockey's Nat Friedman was selected to represent the USA at the 2023 FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup.
Friedman, who registered 36 points (10 goals and 16 assists) in 75 matches in the Old Gold and Black, was one of 14 athletes selected to the World Cup roster after a final selection camp at the end of December.
The 2023 IHWC, which was originally set to take place in February 2022 in Liège, Belgium, will be held at the Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria, South Africa from Feb. 5-11.
The 12-team women's tournament includes many squads within the top-20 of the FIH Indoor World Rankings. No. 12 USA sits in Pool A with No. 2 Netherlands, No. 8 Austria, No. 9 Australia, No. 14 South Africa and New Zealand.
