Demon Deacons Head North for Windy City Classic

CHICAGO, Ill. - The No. 2 Wake Forest women's golf team is back in action this week at the Windy City Classic in Chicago, Illinois, hosted by Northwestern.
The reigning NCAA Champions are one of 10 preseason top-25 teams in the 15-team field and are joined by fellow ACC competitors Duke, Louisville and Virginia. For the first round of play, the Deacs will be paired with Texas and UCLA.
The Deacs are coming off their first team win of the season last week at the Schooner Classic. It was the team's first appearance in the event. Wake won the event with a program-best team score of 811 and three Deacs finished inside the top six.
At the Schooner Classic, Kuehn, senior Mimi Rhodes and junior Carolina Chacarra each finished with a seven-under score of 203 to land them in the top six. With a seven-under finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate to open the fall season, all six rounds of Rhodes' senior season so far have been even or under par. Five of Chacarra's six rounds have been even or under par and four of Kuehn's six have been even or under. For Rhodes, her 54-hole score of 203 is a career best. Kuehn tied her career best with her 203 and Chacarra's 203 is the second-best of her collegiate career.
Freshmen Macy Pate and Brooke Rivers both finished with 54-hole scores of two-under 208 for top-25 finishes, coming in tied for 25th in the 84-player field at the Schooner Classic. Five of Pate's six collegiate rounds so far have been even or under par. Four of Rivers' six collegiate rounds have been even or under. Both players' score of 208 is a collegiate best.
