
Wake Forest and Boston College Play to 1-1 Draw

The Demon Deacons took sole possession of sixth place in the ACC with just two matches remaining.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – After facing a 1-0 halftime deficit, the Wake Forest women's soccer team battled back to earn a 1-1 draw with ACC foe Boston College Thursday evening at Spry Stadium.
With the tie, the Demon Deacons (8-2-5, 2-2-4 ACC) took sole possession of sixth place in the ACC standings (10 points) with just two regular season matches remaining. Of note, the top six teams in the league make the ACC Tournament.
Thursday, Boston College opened the scoring in the 20th minute on a goal from Ella Richards to take a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
The Deacs responded with relentless pressure coming out of the intermission, which resulted in junior midfielder Anna Swanson finding the equalizer in the 51st minute.
Over the final 39+ minutes of play, the Deacs had several near scoring opportunities but were unable to find the winner as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Of note, with Thursday's tie, junior goalkeeper Payton Cahill remained unbeaten over her first five career starts (2-0-3).
