Wake Forest Men’s Golf Finishes Week at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational

Senior Michael Brennan shot 1-under-par to rise 16 positions during the final round of play.
WESTWORTH VILLAGE, TEXAS - Round three of the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational came to a close Tuesday afternoon with the Wake Forest men's golf team having three players rise in the rankings.
Junior Scotty Kennon claimed his second top-25 finish of the season during the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational. During the first round on Monday morning, Kennon posted a season-high 67 (-3) and recorded eight birdies, finishing the first day of play inside of the top five on the individual leaderboard.
During the third round, senior Michael Brennan jumped up 16 positions in the rankings. The senior completed the final 18 holes with four birdies and recorded a 69 (-1), carding the low round for the Deacs on Tuesday afternoon.
He and Kennon both carded a pair of rounds in the 60s to lead Wake Forest over the course of the week with Brennan finishing the last two rounds under par.
Two more Demon Deacons rose in the rankings during the final round of play in Westworth Village, Texas. Sophomore Andrew McLauchlan went up five positions and junior Collin Adams climbed three positions.
The Deacs finished the tournament ranked 12th in the strongest field they have competed with yet this season.

The Demon Deacons will be back in action this Sunday at the Bank of Tennessee Collegiate. This tournament will be the second individual tournament the Deacs will compete in this fall. The Bank of Tennessee Collegiate will be held in Johnson City, Tenn. at the Black Thorn Club.
