
Deacs Conclude Road Swing at No. 5 Louisville and Ohio

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Getting back into the win column at Davidson on Sunday, the Wake Forest field hockey team will look to build off the momentum on the road at Louisville and Ohio this weekend.
Friday's match with the Cardinal will be televised on the ACC Network at 6 p.m while Sunday's contest with the Bobcats is set to air on ESPN+.
Wake Forest Highlights
• The Demon Deacons are tied for second in the ACC with four shutouts through the first nine matches of the 2023 campaign.
• The Deacs are averaging 4.56 saves a game ranking first in the league while the .444 Sho/G ranks .54 second as well. Goalie Ellie Todd is third among league keepers with 36 stops on the season.
• Faye Janse (9th), Nat Friedman (15th) rank in the top 20 of the ACC in shots per game with Janse averaging 2.22 with Friedman behind Janse with 2.00 per game.
• Friedman and Brooke McCusker both broke through for their first goals of the year at Davidson. For Friedman, it marked the eighth of her Demon Deacon career, while McCusker's goal was her sixth in the Old Gold and Black.
• Todd and the Wake defense pitched their fourth shutout of the season at Davidson while Todd notched a new season-high, turning away eight Wildcat shots on the afternoon.
Opponent/Series History
• Wake Forest takes on Louisville for the 23rd time in program history. The Deacs hold a slight 14-8 edge in the series, breaking a three-game skid a year ago with a 2-0 victory over the Cardinal.
• Sunday marks the 11th meeting between the Demon Deacons and the Bobcats. Wake has defeated Ohio in five of the last six meetings between the two teams and are unbeaten in Athens.
