No. 6 Wake Forest Returns to Spry Stadium to Face Wofford

The Deacs begin a four-match homestand against a Wofford side unbeaten since August.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – After three-straight matches on the road, the No. 6 ranked Wake Forest men's soccer team will return to Spry Stadium for four consecutive home contests starting with a Tuesday night non-conference matchup with Wofford.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

Tuesday will be "Hounds on the Hill" as fans can experience Wake Forest soccer with their dogs on Walt Chyzowych Alumni Hill. The first 300 fans will receive a Wake Forest soccer bandana and water bowls will be provided for the dogs as well.

Adult season tickets start as low as $70 for general admission and $50 for youth while reserved chairbacks are $130 for fans and $104 for Wake Forest University faculty and staff.
The quickest and most efficient way to order tickets and take advantage of these new seating experiences is to visit GoDeacs.com/Tickets and purchase online or call the Wake Forest Ticket Office at 336-758-3322 ext. 1. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Matchup
- Wake Forest enters the match riding a five-match winning streak and is 8-1-3 on the year following a 3-0 victory over NC State last Friday.
- Wofford, meanwhile, is in the midst of one of the nation's longest winning streaks at nine-straight matches without a loss. The Terriers are 4-2-5 on the year and 1-1-3 away from Spartanburg, S.C.
- Wake Forest earned its third-straight ACC clean sheet in Friday's victory over NC State, the longest such stretch in the conference.
- Wofford is also stout defensively, having earned three-straight shutouts in a 0-0 draw with ETSU along with back-to-back 2-0 victories over Presbyterian and Mercer respectively.
- Tuesday's match will be the second consecutive season the Terriers have come to Spry Stadium, as Wake Forest defeated Wofford 3-0 on Oct. 18, 2022.
- The Deacs lead the all-time series against the Terriers 4-0-0.
- Facing Big Four rival NC State, Wake Forest traveled to Dail Soccer Field on Friday night and scored a 3-0 victory over the Wolfpack to close out a three-match road trip at 3-0-0.
- Wake Forest registered two first half goals from Cooper Flax and Hosei Kijima, while Julian Kennedy netted his second of the season with 10 minutes remaining in the match.
- The Deacs dominated the match throughout with advantages in shots (21-6), shots on goal (8-3), corner kicks (8-0) and possession (60 percent).
- Trace Alphin recorded three saves on the night while Devin Armstrong recorded the first ACC minutes of his career.
- In total, 26 players logged minutes in the Demon Deacon victory.
- Five of Wake Forest's eight wins so far during the 2023 campaign have come at Spry Stadium, as the Deacs are 5-0-2 on home turf this fall.
- In those seven matches, Wake Forest has outscored opponents 18-5 and recorded clean sheets in victories over Garnder-Webb and Clemson.
- Already reaching 50 ACC regular season wins under ninth-year head coach Bobby Muuss in a 1-0 victory vs. Boston College on Sept. 29, the Deacs will look to hit another milestone mark with 100 home victories since the start of the 2015 season.
- As it currently stands, Wake Forest's 99 home victories are 21 more than any other program over the last nine seasons (Indiana and Clemson, 78):

- Tuesday's match will mark the penultimate non-conference regular season match for the Deacs and the first since a 3-1 victory at Campbell on Sept. 26.
- The Deacs are 5-0-2 against non-conference opponents including a 4-0-1 mark at Spry Stadium.
- In the five home matches against non-conference opponents at Spry, the Deacs hold a +12 goal differential.
- Both Grand Canyon and Cal are top-50 in the latest RPI rankings and Furman currently sits atop the Southern Conference standings with a 2-0-0 record in league matches and 7-3-1 overall.
- Wofford enters Tuesday night's match sporting a 4-2-5 overall record and riding a nine-match unbeaten streak dating back to a 2-2 draw with then-No. 3 Duke on Aug. 31.
- The Terriers have been particularly strong in the first half of matches this season, allowing just one first half goal in 11 matches (a fourth-minute goal for Georgia State in a 2-2 tie on Sept. 5).
- Nikolai Rojel has been a force up top for Wofford, scoring eight goals including back-to-back braces against Duke and Georgia State and a hat trick against Winthrop. Jakob Andersson, meanwhile, leads the team in assists with five including a pair in the team's most recent victory over Mercer.
- Cameron Victor has played every minute in goal this season, recording 31 saves while allowing just nine goals.
- Wake Forest will continue a four-match homestand on Saturday night, hosting current No. 13 North Carolina in the program's annual Genna Wiley Memorial Match. The team will be wearing pink jerseys for the match, with proceeds going to the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Cancer Health Equity Patient Care Fund. Bidding is open now through the end of the day Saturday.
