Demon Deacons Travel for Hokie Open Friday

The Deacs are gearing up for the 2023 NCAA Southeast Regional.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Following a solid showing at the ACC Cross Country Championships a week ago, the Wake Forest men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Blacksburg, Va., to compete in the Hokie Open Friday at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course.
The men's 6K is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m., while the women's 4K will start at 4:45 p.m. Live results for both races can be found here.

In the latest USTFCCCA Coaches Poll, the Wake Forest men were ranked 29th nationally.
Last Time Out (ACC Championships)
The Wake Forest men's and women's cross country teams recorded a pair of top 10 team finishes last week at the 2023 ACC Cross Country Championships at Apalachee Park in Tallahassee, Fla.
Due to finishing in the top 21 individually of their respective races, freshman Brooke Wilson, sophomore Joe O'Brien and junior Luke Tewalt all garnered All-ACC honors.
Additionally, freshman Charlie Sprott was named ACC Freshman of the Year after finishing 23rd overall.
As a team, the Wake Forest men tallied 131 points en route to Friday's sixth-place finish with the Demon Deacons' top three of Tewalt, O'Brien and Sprott all finishing in the top 25.
For the women, Wilson continued her stellar rookie campaign, garnering All-Conference honors behind an 18th place individual finish (20:21.1). Of note, Wake Forest was one of only four teams to have their top three finishers place in the top 30 individually.
