Wake Forest Sets Program Record; 16 Demon Deacons Land on All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - A program-record 16 Demon Deacons were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Academic Team, announced by the league on Thursday.
Abby Carpenter (Liberal Studies), Ava Cickavage (Undeclared), Grace Delmotte (Health & Exercise Science), Maggie Dickman (Communication), Nat Friedman (Bus & Enterprise Mgmt), Immie Gillgrass (Communication), Lee Ann Gordon (Economics), Anna Gwiazdzinski (Health & Exercise Science), Ashley Hart (Undeclared), Meike Lanckohr (Economics), Hannah Maxwell (Health & Exercise Science), Brooke McCusker (Undeclared), Skye Rennie (Undeclared), Rachel Thetford (Undeclared), Ellie Todd (Undeclared) and Kennedy Wainwright (Bus & Enterprise Mgmt/Spanish) all garnered the prestigious honor thanks to a combination of academic and athletic achievements during the 2022 campaign.
This year's 16 honorees surpasses the previous program record of seven set in 2005 and 2021.
Lanckohr received this academic achievement all four years at Wake Forest. Additionally, this marks the third-straight year Delmotte, Friedman and Maxwell landed on the conference's academic team.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester, a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career while playing in 50 percent of a team's contests.
