Deacs Post Top Finishes During Day One of David Hemery Valentine Invitational and Darius Dixon Invitational

Graduate students Mackenna Curtis-Collins and Andrew White broke school records in the women’s 3k and the men’s weight throw, respectively.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's and women's indoor track & field teams both had solid outings Friday as two school records were taken down during day one of the David Hemery Valentine Invitational and the Darius Dixon Invitational.
For the third-consecutive week, graduate student Mackenna Curtis-Collins broke a school record as she clocked 9:00.91 in the 3,000m at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
In the men's weight throw at the Darius Dixon Invitational, graduate student Andrew White tossed 21.13m to break the Wake Forest record. Of note, with Friday's performance, White now owns two of the top three marks in school history.
At the Darius Dixon Invitational, Senior Robbie Grace and sophomore Laura Giudice both notched top-three finishes in the long jump and 800m, respectively.
Notable Finishes
The Demon Deacons will return to action tomorrow for day two of both the David Hemery Invitational and the Darius Dixon Invitational. The David Hemery Valentine Invitational will start at 9 a.m., and the Darius Dixon Invitational will begin at 10:30 a.m.
