From the Staff

"This weekend, we had some strong marks. I think we have several on both the men's and women's side that will qualify for the NCAA East Preliminary at the end of May. Those athletes will be able to hit training hard to start preparing for the postseason. We will compete a few athletes next week before we bring a full team to Duke in two weeks." - Director of track & field and cross country John Hayes

"I was happy with the competitive fire and confidence the women displayed while racing this weekend. Our goal was to win the heats we were in and not worry about the clock. If we pay attention to the process, the outcome will take care of itself. We had a lot of personal bests as a result and many top three finishes across various heats. Now, we get back to work." - Associate head coach Ashley Bastron

"Our men's distance side was highlighted by Luke Tewalt and Rynard Swanepoel. Luke ran very close to his personal best on a humid night and Rynard set his personal best in the 1500m and 800m. Both Luke's 5k and Rynard's 800 are projected to hold up as regional qualifying marks. Coach Hayes and I are looking forward to seeing how those who didn't have the performances they hoped for bounce back these next couple weeks of training before we are back ready to compete at Duke in two weeks." - Assistant coach Brandon Hazouri

"Overall, the throws group had a decent weekend, a few personal bests, a few seasons best and a few more regional qualifiers." - Associate head coach Collin Post
