Sophomore Andrew McLauchlan Bounces Back in Day Two of the SPC
Sammamish, Wa.- The first tournament of the Fall is in the books for the No. 25 Demon Deacons at the Sahalee Players Championship.
Andrew McLaughlan had an impressive performance this Sunday as he finished -1 at Sahalee C.C. The Florida native improved his ranking immensely as he went from T61 to T39 on the final day of the tournament.
After a tough four holes on the front nine, the sophomore finished with three birdies and two pars before the turn. Despite two bogeys on the back nine, McLaughlan recorded two birdies and five pars to end his round.
Another player that bounced back this Sunday was Scotty Kennon. The junior jumped from T38 to T30 with an impressive eagle on hole six.
The Wake Forest team improved from 11th to 10th at the SPC on Sunday. With the Deacs' first tournament of the year in the books, the team looks forward to next week. The Demon Deacons will be traveling to Chicago to host the Highlands Invitational.
The Highlands Invitational will be held at the Chicago Highlands Club in Westchester, Il. from Monday September, 18th to Tuesday September, 19th.
