Rhodes, Deacs in Contention Heading into Final Day of ANNIKA Intercollegiate

LAKE ELMO, Minn. - The Wake Forest women's golf team is three strokes off the lead in second place with 18 holes left to play at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M. The Deacs will enter the final round at -18 while the leader, South Carolina, is -21.
Senior Mimi Rhodes will begin her final 18 holes in contention for the individual win, as she is -7 after 36 holes, tied with South Carolina's Maylis Lamoure. Rhodes has recorded 10 birdies over her 36 holes, with seven in her first round on Monday and three more in her second round on Tuesday. Her 10 birdies is the second-most in the field so far, behind Florida State's Lottie Woad with 11.
Freshman Brooke Rivers is right behind Rhodes with nine birdies over two days. She finished her second round with a one-under 71 and is inside the top 10 heading into the final day of her first collegiate event. After five birdies in her opening round on Monday, Rivers recorded four on her second nine holes Tuesday afternoon.
Junior Carolina Chacarra carded a three-under 69 in her second round to help her jump inside the top 15 heading into the final round. After finishing one-over-par in Monday's first round, Chacarra started her second round with three-straight birdies on her fourth, fifth and sixth holes of the day. She recorded two more birdies on her second nine, including coming in one-under on the par-five 18th.
Freshman Macy Pate finds herself inside the top 15 alongside Chacarra with a second-round 72 to stay two under through 36. Graduate Rachel Kuehn also carded an even-par score in her second round and will enter the final round one over.
Final Round
Wednesday's final round will begin with tee times starting at 9:30 a.m. ET. Wake Forest will be paired with South Carolina and Oregon off the first hole beginning at 10:20 in 10-minute intervals. Live scoring is available via Golfstat.
