Demon Deacons Resume Action Friday at Virginia Tech Invitational

Wake Forest is set to compete in their first event of 2024 in Blacksburg, Va.

Blacksburg, Va. - The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams continue the indoor campaign in the second event of the season at the Virginia Tech Invitational. 15 Demon Deacons will be competing across three events for the first event of the New Year. 

Isabella Gera, Ashlyn Giles, Amanda Schaare and Casey Sullivan are set to compete in the women's shot put this weekend. During the Visit Winston-Salem College Kickoff, these four finished in the top-10 in the competition. Schaare finished in first, Giles in second, Sullivan in third and Gera in seventh in the event.

On the men's side, Dillion Aryeh and Jack Balick are competing in the 1000m competition this weekend. During the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, Balick finished second and Aryeh finished fourth in the mile. 

Mason Ellis, Thomas Kitchell and Connor Mathis will be competing in the shot put in Blacksburg. In the first event of the season Kitchell secured the first place spot while Ellis finished in fourth at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kickoff.

The Virginia Tech Invitational will be held Friday and Saturday at Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va. Live results for the Virginia Tech Invitational can be found here.
