
The Demon Deacons Are Successful in Back-to-Back Weekends in Blacksburg

Wake Forest men’s and women’s indoor track and field claimed seven podiums at the Hokie Invitational.
Blacksburg, Va.- The Wake Forest men's and women's indoor track and field teams concluded day two of the Hokie Invitational with more hardware. The Demon Deacons finished the weekend with seven podium finishes across six events.
On Friday night, Robbie Grace and Weber Long both claimed second place in their respective events. Grace finished second place in the long jump with a personal best 6.09m jump. Long secured his second place finish with a personal best 4:05.16 in the mile.
Thomas Kitchell continued his success in the indoor campaign with a third place finish in the weight throw. On Saturday afternoon, Kitchell went on to claim first place in the shot put to add five podium finishes over the first three indoor meets.
Jack Balick and Dillon Aryeh were neck and neck during the men's 800m. Balick finished first running a 1:51.17 while Aryeh came in second with a 1:51.65.
Amanda Schaare took home third in the women's shot put at the Hokie Invitational. Schaare threw a season-best 15.27m for the final podium finish of the weekend.
The Deacs look to January 26th and 27th when they will compete in the Bob Pollock Invitational and Camel City Invitational.
