
Wake Forest Concludes Homestand with Final Home Non-Conference Match Against Wofford

The Demon Deacons won each of their first two matches in this home stretch by 2-0 with victories against ETSU and Boston College.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest men's soccer will close out a three-match homestand on Tuesday evening, hosting Wofford for the third consecutive season at Spry Stadium. The Demon Deacons opened the three-match set of home matches with a pair of 2-0 victories over ETSU and Boston College.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will air nationally on the ACC Network.

The impact of Hurricane and Tropical Storm Helene has been catastrophic, with entire communities in western North Carolina and across the Southeast now facing the daunting task of recovery and rebuilding. Wake Forest Athletics will have donation boxes at all home events this week, including tomorrow's soccer match. The generosity of fans will go towards the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund or to the United Way of North Carolina - Helene.

The Matchup
- Wake Forest and Wofford will meet for the third consecutive season at Spry Stadium on Tuesday night with both programs coming off victories over the weekend .
- The Demon Deacons on Saturday picked up their second-straight ACC victory with a 2-0 decision over Boston College while Wofford scored a 3-2 victory over Gardner-Webb.
- Wake Forest and Wofford will both enter Spry with winning records on the season, as the Demon Deacons sit at 5-3-3 while Wofford is 4-2-1.
- The Demon Deacons have picked up four victories on home soil in 2024, including non-conference wins against Central Arkansas, Radford and ETSU while Wofford has scored wins away from Spartanburg against Queens and Radford.
- Wake Forest continues to lead the nation in total shots (235), shots per game (21.36), total shots on goal (102) and shots on goal per game (9.27). The Deacs are the only program in the country to record more than 200 total shots and 100 shots on goal through this weekend's action.
- Wofford, meanwhile, has allowed just six goals on the campaign as opponents have collected just 25 shots on goal.
- Wake Forest picked up its ACC-best 54th conference regular season win since 2015, utilizing a complete team performance to record a 2-0 clean sheet victory over Boston College.
- Despite both sides creating changes in the first half, it would be Wake Forest that took the lead into the halftime break, as freshman Ryan Belal notched his second goal of the season in the 43rd minute.
- In the second half, Wake Forest continued to push with a second goal coming in the 67th minute as graduate Sidney Paris capped off a Deacon run down the right side for his first goal of the season. Redshirt sophomore Nico Rabiu and freshman Amoni Thomas recorded assists on Paris' goal.
- In goal, senior goalkeeper Trace Alphin stood tall with five saves to help preserve the second clean sheet in as many games for the Deacs.
- Wake Forest maintained 56 percent of possession on the night while outshooting the Eagles 26-12 (13 to five on goal).
- Since head coach Bobby Muuss' arrival in 2015 along with the coaching staff of associate head coaches Dane Brenner and Steve Armas along with assistant coach Ade Taiwo, Wake Forest ranks No. 1 nationally in home wins (106), 19 more than any other program nationally during that span and 21 more than any ACC program.
- Over the last 10 seasons, the Deacs have won at least eight of their matches at Spry Stadium including a double-digit win total seven of those seasons.
- Wake Forest's home winning percentage of 81.9 percent since 2015 also ranks third nationally, behind only Indiana (83.3) and Denver (83.1).
- In the attack, Wofford has been led by a balanced effort as six Terriers have scored on the season with Declan Mettee leading the team with two goals.
- Defensively, freshman goalkeeper Leo Ledin has had a standout first season at Wofford, recording three clean sheets while sporting a 0.86 goals against average.
- The Deacs lead the Terriers 5-0-0 in the all-time series.
- In last year's 2-0 victory at Spry, Julian Kennedy scored the game-winning goal in the 62nd minute before Vlad Walent added a second tally in the 69th minute.
- Wake Forest will return to ACC action on Saturday, traveling to Durham to face current No. 18 Duke in a massive Big Four showdown.
