Series History
Versus Western Carolina
Series: Wake Forest leads 2-0
Last: Nov. 12, 2021
Result: W, 87-75, in Winston-Salem
The Matchup
The Catamounts are led by first-year head coach Tim Craft and are coming off a dominant 99-64 win over NAIA opponent Truett McConnell. Western Carolina used a season-high 14 3-pointers led by five from junior guard Ice Emery and a defense that limited Truett McConnel to just 24 points in the second half.
Returning just four players from last year's roster with only one seeing playing time a year ago, Western Carolina was picked to finish eighth in the Southern Conference preseason poll. The Catamounts will look to senior Bernard Pelote to help lead WCU into the season as the lone player returning to the Purple & Gold who logged minutes last year.
Tuesday night's tipoff inside LJVM will air live on ACC Network with Roy Philpott and Malcolm Huckaby on the call. Fans can follow along via the Demon Deacons Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts (@WakeMBB).
