Three Wake Forest Cross Country Athletes Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Caroline Garrett, Joseph O’Brien and Lydia Van Dijk were named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Three members of the Wake Forest men's and women's cross country teams secured spots on the USTFCCCA All-Academic team. The USTFCCCA announced Thursday afternoon that Caroline Garrett, Joseph O'Brein and Lydia Van Dijk met the requirements for the All-Academic squad.
For All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
As a team, the Demon Deacons men's and women's teams earned All-Academic distinctions. The women's cross country team finished with a 3.705 GPA and the men's team finished with a 3.49 GPA.
For All-Academic distinction, the teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
