
Rocky Hansen to Represent Team USA at World Athletics Cross Country Championships

Hansen will compete in the men’s 10K championship race on Saturday at 12:20 p.m. at the Apalachee Regional Park.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Following one of the most dominant cross country seasons in program history, Wake Forest junior Rocky Hansen is set to represent Team USA at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships on Saturday.
The men's 10K championship race is slated to begin at 12:20 p.m at the Apalachee Regional Park. The race will be streamed live on Peacock and live results will be updated throughout the competition here.
The Hendersonville, N.C., native earned his spot to represent the United States at the World Championships after placing second at the USATF Cross Country Championships in Portland, Ore., on Dec. 6.
Hansen had one of the most successful seasons in Wake Forest program history as he capped off the 2025 season with a national runner-up performance to earn his first career All-American honor at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Hansen also earned All-Southeast Region honors following a first place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional that helped Wake Forest claim their first Southeast Region title since 2021.
Additionally, Hansen became the first Demon Deacon to be named the ACC Men's Cross Country Performer of the Year after claiming the first ACC Individual Championship for the Deacs since 2001, setting a new course record at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park cross country course by 40 seconds in the process.
Overall, Hansen was one of two Deacs to earn All-American, All-Region, and All-ACC honors this season.
