No. 14 Wake Forest Continues ACC Play at Boston College

Wake Forest looks to stay hot at Boston College, as the Demon Deacons currently ride a five-game winning streak.
BRIGHTON, Mass. – No. 14 Wake Forest continues a stretch of three of four ACC series on the road during the month of April on Friday against Boston College.
The Deacs will stick with Chase Burns on the opening night of the series, Josh Hartle on Saturday and Michael Massey on Sunday.
First pitch is set for 3 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday with all three games on ACC Network Extra.
Wake took two-of-three from the Eagles last year in Winston and will look to win their sixth-straight series against B.C, dating back to 2017.

• The Deacs and Eagles will meet for the 49th time on Friday in the series that dates back just 18 years.
• Wake Forest leads the all-time series, 28-20, but trails on the road with a record of 10-14.
• Over the last five series, Wake Forest holds an 11-4 record, with seven wins by five or more runs.
• The Deacs put up 41 runs across three games the last time the two squads met in Brighton in 2022.
Epilepsy Awareness Game
• The Wake Forest baseball team will host its annual Epilepsy Awareness Game inside David F. Couch Ballpark on Saturday, April 20 against Florida State, benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation of Pennsylvania and Ryan Lloyd Foundation.
• Fans will have the opportunity to bid on the special-edition, game-worn jerseys through GoDeacs.com until 11:59 p.m. on the night of the game. The starting bid for each jersey is $200.

Bombs Away
• The Deacs left the yard a season-high six times on Tuesday against Coastal Carolina with multi-home run nights from Nick Kurtz and Jack Winnay.
• Joining Kurtz and Winnay, transfer Seaver King (10) and senior Jake Reinisch (8) both homered in the contest against the Chanticleers.
• After going yard in his first two at-bats, Kurtz had six home runs in his last seven at bats. Additionally, it made it an even 10 home runs in the last six games for the Lancaster, Pa. native. Over the last two games, Kurtz is 6-of-8 (.750) with five home runs, 12 RBI and six runs scored.
• Wake Forest became the 12th team nationally to cross over the 60 home run mark this season and were just the second to do so in the ACC, trailing just Virginia Tech who has 63 home runs.
• The Deacs have launched 23 home runs as a team in the last six games, including four or more in three.
Arm Farm
• Wake Forest returned just 14 lettermen to the 40-man roster and have relied heavily on a number of freshmen arms to this point of the 2024 season.
• Freshmen pitchers have combined to throw nearly a quarter of the Demon Deacons innings with 68.0 of Wake's 283.1 innings (24.0%) coming from first year players on the mound through 32 games.
• Wake Forest freshmen arms have punched out 82 batters at the halfway point of the season, good for 21.6% of the Demon Deacons' 380 strikeouts.
Draco Don Diablo
• Wake Forest got a huge piece of the backend of its bullpen back last Tuesday, with graduate student Cole Roland making his 2024 season debut.
• Roland sandwiched a strikeout between a pair of groundballs back to him to complete the win for the Deacs in the ninth on just 12 pitches.
• The reliever threw the final inning of Saturday's series clinching win at No. 11 Virginia Tech, picking up a pair of strikeouts in the frame.
• Roland fanned two in the final inning of the Deacs win on Tuesday against No. 20 Coastal Carolina.
