
Deacs Make Cut for Fourth Day of NCAA Play

Carlsbad, Calif. - The Wake Forest women's golf team has made the first of two cuts at the NCAA Championships by finishing inside the top 15 at the end of play Sunday.
The top 15 teams will play one final round of stroke play Monday to determine the top eight teams that will advance to the quarterfinals of match play, scheduled for Tuesday, May 21.
Graduate Rachel Kuehn had her best round of the tournament so far and the lowest for the Deacs on Sunday with an ever-par 72. Mimi Rhodes' third round of two-over was highlighted by a 12-foot birdie putt on her 18th hole to get the team to +20 and within striking distance of the top 15. Carolina Chacarra had a team-high four birdies in her third round.
The Deacs have the third-most pars of any school with 180. Wake has also dropped 29 birdies over three rounds. Rhodes leads the team averaging even par on the par-four holes and has averaged one-under on the par fives. Rhodes also has the third-most pars of individuals with 40. Chacarra leads the team with nine birdies over her three rounds.
Monday's fourth round will begin with tee times at 10:30 a.m. PT off the first hole at 10:41 off the 10th hole. Wake Forest will begin at 10:41 a.m. PT/1:41 p.m. ET off the 10th tee and will be paired with USC and Duke.
