No. 12 Wake Forest Faces No. 2 Clemson in Final Home ACC Series

Wake Forest has won six-straight games and are undefeated in the month of May to this point.

 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 12 Wake Forest baseball team continues an eight-game homestand with a three-game Atlantic Coast Conference series against No. 2 Clemson this weekend at David F. Couch Ballpark.

First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 6 p.m on ACC Network Extra while the Saturday and Sunday contests of the series will air nationally. Game two of the series will air on ACC Network with a 4 p.m first pitch on Saturday with the series finale set for a noon start on ESPN2 on Sunday.

The Wake Forest starting rotation for the weekend consists of Chase Burns, David Falco and Josh Hartle.

Opponent History
Wake Forest and Clemson will meet for the 207th time on Friday night. The two teams last met in 2023 with the Deacs sweeping the Tigers on the road, including a pair of one-run victories.

Multiple Safety Enhancements Added at David F. Couch Ballpark
To make it easier for all fans to get to their seats handrails have been installed in all stadium aisles at The Couch. Prior to the start of the North Carolina series, the protective netting was extended out to cover all fans in general admission seating from potential balls leaving the playing field. Additional security cameras will be added to ensure the safety of fans attending games this season. For a full list of upgrades to The Couch, click here.

  • Wake Forest's 553 strikeouts through 49 games currently is tops in the ACC and third nationally.
  • Additionally, the Deacs rank third in the country with a 11.6 K/9. 
  • In 2024, Wake Forest has struck out at least 10 in 29 contests and 15 or more in nine.
  • The Deacs struck out a season-high 20 in the Saturday win over Duke back in March.
 
Kurtz's April 
  • First baseman Nick Kurtz led the ACC in slugging percentage (1.172), on-base percentage (.556), runs scored (26), runs batted in (30), home runs (13), total bases (68) and walks (22) in April. 
    • Additionally, the junior hit .379 on the month, ranking 12th in the league.

       
Seav's Seein' It
  • Transfer Seaver King has started to heat up over the last month, as the third baseman has now knocked in a run in eight-consecutive games, including seven in the series against Western Carolina last weekend.
  • The Athens, Ga. native has hit safely in 19 of the last 20 contests and paces Wake Forest with 23 multi-hit efforts on the season.

Wake Forest plays their final regular season game at The Couch with a Tuesday showdown against Liberty. First pitch against the Flames is set for 7 p.m. on the ACC Network.
