The Matchup
  • Wake Forest and Radford will meet in the Deacs' only Monday regular season match of the season with each team looking to rebound from losses this weekend after the Deacs lost to Gardner-Webb on Friday before Radford fell to Wofford on Saturday.
  • Wake Forest will also be seeking its second home home win of the season as well, following a 3-2 comeback victory over Central Arkansas on Aug. 25. After trailing 2-0 at halftime, Wake Forest collected three second half goals for the program's first victory following a 2-0 deficit since 2006.
  • Radford has suffered three one-goal losses on the season to date and also fell to Elon, who is currently 5-0-0 on the season.
Last Time Out
  • Wake Forest traveled across the state to Gardner-Webb on Friday night, suffering a 3-1 defeat to the Runnin' Bulldogs.
  • After Gardner-Webb took a 2-0 lead in the 65th minute, the Demon Deacons cut into the deficit in the 76th minute as senior Babacar Niang was on the receiving end of a perfectly placed cross from sophomore Jeffrey White
  • The Deacs continued to ramp up pressure in the final third looking for an equalizer, however, the Runnin' Bulldogs logged a third goal in the 88th minute.
  • Niang would finish the night playing a career-high 90 minutes, as he currently leads the team in goals (three) and points (six).
  • Senior Trace Alphin, junior Cooper Flax and sophomore Travis Smith Jr. also played the entirety of the match.
The Spry Advantage
  • Since head coach Bobby Muuss' arrival in 2015 along with the coaching staff of associate head coaches Dane Brenner and Steve Armas along with assistant coach Ade Taiwo, Wake Forest ranks No. 1 nationally in home wins (103), 16 more than any other program nationally during that span and 20 more than any ACC program.
  • Over the last 10 seasons, the Deacs have won at least eight of their matches at Spry Stadium including a double-digit win total seven of those seasons.
  • Wake Forest's home winning percentage of 82 percent since 2015 also ranks third nationally, behind only Indiana and Denver.
Scouting the Highlanders
  • Radford is coming off a hard-fought 1-0 loss to Wofford on Saturday night, as the deciding goal in  the match came in the 11th minute.
  • Three different goalkeepers have logged starts for the Highlanders this season, with Alex Eydelman earning a spot in the Starting XI against Campbell and Wofford.
  • Joep de Bruin scored against the Camels in the opener.
  • This will be the Highlanders' first ACC matchup since a 3-2 victory at Virginia Tech on Oct. 24, 2023.
  • The Demon Deacons and Highlanders will meet for the first time in 25 years in Monday night's match.
  • Wake Forest leads the all-time series 4-0-0 with three of those victories coming in Winston-Salem. In their most recent showdown on Oct. 5, 1999, Wake Forest scored a 5-2 victory at Spry.
Looking Ahead
  • Wake Forest will open its ACC slate on Friday evening, facing Virginia in the first regular season matchup between the Deacs and Cavaliers at Spry Stadium since Sept. 13, 2016.
  • Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
