Victories Propel Demon Deacons at Mondo College Invitational

Isabella Gera and Jacob Goldberg led the Deacs with a pair of first-place finishes on Saturday.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest track and field concluded the Mondo College Invitational on Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C., with four podium finishes, including Isabella Gera's win in the women's shot put and Jacob Goldberg's first-place finish in the men's weight throw.
Gera posted a mark of 14.51 meters, while Goldberg recorded a throw of 18.11m.
In the first four competitions of the 2024-25 season, Gera has earned three first-place finishes, two in the shot put and one in the weight throw. Goldberg has claimed two first-place finishes, and a personal best of 18.43m in the weight throw.
Maria Leskovec threw 16.51m in the weight throw, placing third, while Samantha Heyison competed in the shot put, finishing with a personal best of 11.49m.
Seren Rodgers finished third in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.04, followed by Aria Wegh, who clocked in at 9.28.
