Demon Deacons Set for First Road Test of the Season Against Liberty

The Deacs travel to Lynchburg, Virginia to take on the Flames on Friday starting at 12 p.m.
LYNCHBURG, VA – Off the backs of a 2-1 start to the 2025 season, the Wake Forest women's tennis team will make their first road trip of the season as they face Liberty on Friday at the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center.
First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. All matches are available for streaming on Playsight and live results will be updated throughout the matches here.

The Wake Forest women's tennis team opened their 2025 season with a trio of matches at the Wake Forest Indoor Center, facing off against No. 18 Tennessee and East Carolina in a doubleheader this past Saturday, along with East Tennessee State on Monday.
The Demon Deacons nearly pulled off the upset in their first match of the season, falling to the Volunteers 4-3 in a tightly contested battle. The Deacs then bounced back with back-to-back sweeps against ECU (4-0) and ETSU (7-0).
During the opening weekend, the Demon Deacons went undefeated in doubles play, including graduate student Anna Zhang and junior Whitley Pate taking all three of their matches as a duo.
In singles play, redshirt sophomore Krystal Blanch went 2-0 in her opening matches at second singles, including an upset victory over No. 19 Catherine Aulia of Tennessee, whom Blanch defeated in straight-sets (6-2, 7-5). Blanch also picked up a straight-set victory against ETSU's Jana Rovira (6-1, 6-4) to close out her weekend.
Two freshman would add their first dual match wins of their collegiate career over the opening weekend, as Brianna Baldi and Kady Tannenbaum picked up singles wins, with Baldi defeating both ECU's Anna Lou Champion (6-4, 6-2) and ETSU's Ralitsa Alexandrova (7-6 (9-7), 6-1), while Tannenbaum came away with wins against ECU's Isabel Rivera (6-1, 7-5) and ETSU's Julia Millan (6-1, 6-3).
Chasing History
With the wins against East Carolina and East Tennessee State, head coach Jeff Wyshner recorded his 188th and 189th career wins as the head coach of the Demon Deacons. Wyshner, who is currently in his 15th season at the helm for the Deacs, is now only three wins away from becoming the all-time winningest head coach in program history.
Under Wyshner's leadership, the Demon Deacons have amassed a 189-180 overall record and have made eight-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. Wyshner has also helped produce three All-Americans during his 15-year tenure, including Singles All-American Carolyn Campana (2021), and Doubles All-Americans MC Meredith and Eliza Omiru (2020) and Anna Brylin and Brooke Killingsworth (2022).
Scouting the Opposition
The Liberty Flames opened their 2025 season with a trio of matches, splitting a doubleheader with Elon (3-4) and Longwood (4-0) this past Friday, before losing to Clemson (1-6) on Sunday.
Of note, freshman Yoanna Radulova went 3-0 in singles play over the weekend, including the lone victory in the matchup against Clemson, defeating Romana Cisovska 5-7, 7-6 (7-1), 1-0 (10-8).
Friday's match will mark the fourth meeting between the Demon Deacons and the Flames, with the Deacs winning all three prior meetings.
