Deacs Host No. 2 Duke in Saturday Sellout

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Rivalry Week for Wake Forest men's basketball continues this Saturday (Jan. 25), as the Demon Deacons (15-4, 7-1 ACC) are set to host No. 2 Duke (16-2, 8-0 ACC) in front of a sold-out crowd. The Big Four matchup will tip off at 4:30 p.m. inside LJVM Coliseum.
Wake Forest is currently on a six-game win streak, its longest since the 2004-05 campaign. Additionally, the team's 7-1 mark against Atlantic Coast Conference foes is its best start since the 1996-97 season.
The upcoming Saturday sellout will be Wake Forest's second straight, as the team most recently hosted North Carolina earlier this week in front of a capacity crowd of 12,799 fans. Saturday will also mark the third sellout of the Steve Forbes era. Interested fans can still purchase tickets for the game through Wake Forest Athletics' trusted secondary marketplace for buying and reselling Demon Deacons tickets, SeatGeek.
Largest Crowds in the Steve Forbes Era
Securing a 67-66 victory over North Carolina, Wake Forest moved to 10-0 at home in 2024-25. In each of the last four seasons, the Deacons have started 10-0 inside LJVM Coliseum, resting at a 58-7 overall clip since the start of the 2021-22 season. The program's home wins total ranks second in the county and leads the ACC during that span.
The North Carolina win saw four Deacs reach double figures in scoring, led by Cameron Hildreth's 20 points. The Worthing, England, native went 10-for-12 from the free-throw line and grabbed six rebounds while playing all 40 minutes.
Hunter Sallis fell just short of a double-double, finishing with 14 points and nine rebounds. Frontcourt mates Efton Reid III and Tre'Von Spillers contributed 12 points apiece. The latter also hauled in nine boards of his own to tie the game-high mark and totaled four blocks. Reid added six rebounds and two blocks to his line while making all six of his free throw attempts. Wake Forest won the battle on the glass, 41-33, as the team's rebounding total was its most in an ACC contest this season.
Defensively, Wake Forest has consistently been one of the conference's most elite units, ranking second in blocks (85), third in forced turnovers (271) and fourth in steals (145) among all league member schools.
