WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – For the fourth-consecutive season, the No. 4-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team advanced to the ITA National Indoor Championships following a 4-0 victory over Memphis Saturday evening at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.
The Demon Deacons (7-0, 0-0 ACC) are now a combined 27-0 in singles and 14-1 in doubles to open the season, the best mark in both since the 2022 campaign.
After going down a break on all three doubles courts early on, the Demon Deacons battled back on courts one and two to clinch the point.
Luca Pow and Luciano Tacchi, the No. 4-ranked pair in the nation, picked up a 7-5 comeback win over Alemany/Kouame. Shortly after, the No. 29-ranked duo of DK Suresh Ekambaram and Ioannis Xilas remained calm in the tiebreaker and won their match against Gannon/Reeve, 7-6(5).
Pow/Tacchi moved to a team-best 5-0 on the year while Suresh/Xilas improved to 2-0.
Wake Forest carried the momentum into singles, where Dostanic quickly wrapped up his match on court one, defeating Conor Gannon 6-0, 6-3. The former No. 1-ranked singles player in the country improved to 2-0 with the Deacs.
Not long after Dostanic's win, Capalbo extended the lead to 3-0 with his third singles win of the season as he took down Alejandro Vizoso (6-0, 6-3) on court six.
With his match-clinching win over Michael Kouame on court four (6-3, 6-3), Pow extended his dual-match winning streak to a ridiculous 24-consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Of note, Wake Forest is now 3-0 all-time against the Tigers with all three matches taking place in Winston-Salem.
The team indoor championships will be joint-hosted by Baylor and SMU from February 14-18. Visit the official ITA website for ticket information. You can also stay tuned to GoDeacs.com and the Wake Forest Men's Tennis social media accounts for more information throughout the week.

From Coach Bresky
"It's great to advance again to national indoors. It's always such a great tournament, it's one of our goals. Memphis has a really good team. It was obviously an exciting doubles point where we were down and came back. I think that set the tone for the match. It was good to get through 4-0 against a really good team. We're looking forward to having Georgia and Ohio State at our place, it should be a great weekend." - Head coach Tony Bresky
Next Up
The Demon Deacons will look to continue their perfect start to the season as they host a pair of power four opponents next weekend at the ITC with Georgia and No. 3 Ohio State coming to town on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Both matches are slated for 1 p.m.
