1/31/2025 12:32:00 PM | Men's Tennis
Wake Forest will look to continue its unblemished start to 2025.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A week removed from qualifying to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, the No. 4-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team will now host a pair of elite power four programs with Georgia and No. 3 Ohio State visiting the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center this weekend.
The Demon Deacons will take on the Bulldogs on Saturday before welcoming the Buckeyes for a top-five clash on Sunday. First serve for both matches is slated for 1 p.m.
Post-Match Recognition
Following the match on Saturday against Georgia, the Wake Forest men's tennis team will present Audley Bell's family with a signed photo, recognizing Bell's recent Robert Grant and Butch Henry Trailblazer Award.
Bell, who sadly passed away late last year, was the first black tennis player to compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference as he served as Wake Forest's number one singles player during his senior year.
Bell's professional career was equally trailblazing. Over four decades, he excelled in accounting and internal auditing, leading global organizations like Habitat for Humanity and World Vision while serving as a trusted advisor and mentor. These professional experiences allowed him to travel the world and see the impact of his work. He also taught at institutions like the University of the West Indies and New York University, sharing his expertise and inspiring the next generation.
Wake Forest encourages fans to stick around after the match to support the Bell family and recognize a true trailblazer.
