    • Also under Muuss, Wake Forest is 110-19-11 against unranked opponents.
  • Spry Stadium has been a fortress for the Demon Deacons ever since Muuss took over, with Wake Forest holding a stellar 116-21-14 record at home since 2015, the most wins in the country.

Captain Heating Up
  • Started by his first-career hat trick, Cooper Flax has recorded an incredible past couple of weeks on the pitch.
  • Flax opened his account on the year against the Flames as he converted from the spot in the second and 16th minutes after freshman forward Chandler Young forced the Liberty keeper into two fouls in the box.
  • He completed the hat-trick in the 68th minute with a beautiful free kick from just outside the box to make it 6-0. This marked the 31st hat-trick in program history, the fourth under head coach Bobby Muuss  and first since Roald Mitchell accomplished the feat against Furman on Sept. 4, 2023.
  • The senior also added an assist on a goal in the 60th minute following his corner, making him the first Deac with seven points in a game since Mitchell did so against Winthrop on Sept. 6, 2022.
  • Flax continued his scoring ways against Clemson. The midfielder converted from the penalty spot for the third time in two games with the opener in the 13th minute and went on to record the first multi-assist game of his career.
  • Flax added his fifth goal, also a penalty, to win the match in the 86th minute on the road against Cal.
  • He is now tied with Lorentz for the team lead with 15 points and leads the team with five assists to go along with his five goals.
  • He is one of just three ACC players with five goals and five assists so far this season.

The Hometown Kid
  • Following his beautiful strike against Clemson three weeks ago, Tate Lorentz extended his team lead in  goals (six) and is tied for the team-lead in points (15).
  • Lorentz has been incredibly efficient with his shot selection as well, as he has scored his six goals on just 14 shots (42.9 percent).
  • Four weeks ago, he recorded his first-career brace against UNCW as he leveled the match in the 13th minute before firing the Deacs in front with a penalty he won in the 53rd.
  • Entering the Louisville match, Lorentz is sixth in the conference in points and fifth in goals.

Last Time Out (vs. Cal)
  • Capped off by an 86th-minute penalty kick winner from senior midfielder Cooper Flax, the Wake Forest men's soccer team earned its first ACC win of the season as it took down Cal at Edwards Stadium Saturday evening.
  • Wake Forest found the opener in the 17th minute when sophomore forward Harvey Sarajian hustled to a loose ball in front of the Cal keeper and played it across to senior midfielder Basit Umar for an easy finish.
  • It marked Umar's eighth goal in a Demon Deacon uniform as he surpassed 20 career points (21) for the Deacs. He is now third on the squad with four goals this campaign. Meanwhile, Sarajian picked up his first assist for Wake Forest and the seventh of his career.
  • The Golden Bears found an equalizer in the 52nd minute.
  • After a back-and-forth battle for a majority of the second half, Wake Forest finally found the much-deserved winner from the Flax penalty, which was won on the edge of the box by Sarajian.
  • Flax is now 4-for-4 from the spot this season and 8-for-9 over the last two seasons. Flax is now tied for the team-lead in points (15) with Tate Lorentz with five goals and a team-high five assists. Of note, he was recently named to the 2025 MAC Hermann Midseason Watch List.
  • In goal, redshirt sophomore Jonah Mednard logged six saves, which tied a career high and brought his total on the year to 38, the third most in the ACC.
  • The Demon Deacons are now 4-3-1 on the west coast, with this being their first win since Sept. 27, 1998 in a 2-1 upset over the No. 1-ranked Washington Huskies in Seattle. Additionally, Wake Forest evened the all-time series against Cal at 2-2-1 as it defeated the Golden Bears for the first time since the first-ever meeting 1993.
