Three Demon Deacons Look to Qualify for NCAA Singles Championships at ITA East Sectionals

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — In the final chance to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships taking place later this month, the Wake Forest men's tennis team will have three Demon Deacons compete in the ITA East Sectionals, held Nov. 6-9 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Fifth-seeded Kacper Szymkowiak, seventh-seeded Andrew Delgado and Joaquin Guilleme will represent the Demon Deacons in the singles draw, looking to build on a strong fall campaign and secure qualification spots for the upcoming championships.
DK Suresh Ekambaram and Luca Pow have already secured spots in the NCAA singles draw, while Suresh and Delgado will also compete in doubles in Orlando.
Tournament Information
The ITA Sectional Championships will be the last chance for some of the top players from across the country to qualify for the 2025 NCAA Individual Championships.
The 2025 ITA Sectional Championships will have a draw size of the following, (Singles: 32) (Doubles: 16). From this, six singles players from each section (24) will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (semifinalists, two quarterfinal playoff winners).
Meanwhile, three doubles teams from each section (12) will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the Sectional Championships (champion, finalist, third place).

In the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Preseason Rankings, Wake Forest had five singles players and two doubles pairs ranked.
