The ACC Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year earned First and Third Team honors, respectively.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the first time since 2022, the Wake Forest field hockey team had a pair of student-athletes named to the NFHCA All-American teams, as Mia Schoenbeck (First Team) and Mia Montag (Third Team) were both recognized by the organization on Tuesday morning.

"Congratulations to Mia Montag and Mia Schoenbeck on being named All-Americans," head coach Jen Averill said. "Mia Schoenbeck's ability to generate and finish scoring opportunities, combined with her all-around defensive contributions, has had a significant impact on our squad. Mia Montag's exceptional possession skills, composure on the ball, and consistently strong defensive performances have been central to our team's success. This recognition is a testament to their excellence, consistency, and commitment at the highest level of the game."

The duo are the first All-Americans for the Demon Deacons since Meike Lanckohr and Sky Caron following the 2022 season.

Additionally, they were both named NFHCA First Team All-South Region, joined by teammate Ava Moore who was named Second Team All-South Region.

First Team All-American – Mia Schoenbeck | M | Jr.
A dominant force in the attacking circle, Schoenbeck ranked third in the ACC and tied for sixth nationally with 51 points during the 2025 season. Her 23 goals ranked tied for the conference lead and tied for third in the country.

The LaGrange, Ky., native recorded six multi-goal games, including two hat tricks and a four-goal performance against Cal.

Schoenbeck's 23 goals rank fifth in program history.

Additionally, she tallied seven game-winning goals, the most by a Demon Deacon since Wake Forest Hall of Famer Kelly Dostal had eight during the 2004 national championship season.

Schoenbeck scored in all but seven matches this season, including nine goals over Wake's final six contests.

Third Team All-American – Mia Montag | B | So.
Sophomore standout Mia Montag anchored Wake Forest's defensive unit and attack penalty corner group. Montag played a key role in the Deacs offensive attack, contributing five goals and 18 assists, the most helpers by a Wake Forest player since 2018.

Her 10 assists in ACC play led the league, with the next-closest student-athlete at six. Montag added five goals this season to go along with her 18 assists, providing a spark on both ends of the field for Wake Forest, as she finished ninth in the ACC with 28 points.

Defensively, she helped Wake Forest hold opponents to just 1.5 goals per game during conference play while limiting 13 opponents to a single score or fewer throughout the season.
