Game Promotions and Giveaways Announced for 2026 Field Hockey Season

The Deacs open their season with the ACC/Big Ten Challenge against Iowa on Aug. 28.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Get ready, Deacon Nation! With the 2026 Wake Forest field hockey season soon upon us, game promotions and special giveaways are ready for members of the Winston-Salem communities to make their plans for months ahead.
Of note, the Demon Deacons will host Youth Day against Ohio on Sept. 6, Dog Days at Kenter on Oct.18 against Davidson, as well as the Pride game on Oct. 25 against JMU.
The Deacs will host several opportunities for students to get involved throughout the season. On Aug. 30 against Michigan and Sept. 11 against VCU, pieces of Wake field hockey merch will be auctioned off for students to win. At the game against Virginia on Oct. 16, Screamin' Demons Day will have opportunities where students can earn double SDR points and secure a rope hat.

The Demon Deacons recently announced its complete 2026 fall schedule, competing in 10 home contests, including four against ACC opponents. Wake Forest will open the season by hosting Iowa and Michigan as part of the ACC-BIG TEN Challenge.
All field hockey matches are free to the public, so bring your friends and family and join in on the fun!
Wake Forest Field Hockey Overview
The Demon Deacons enter their 56th season in program history this fall, with key players set to return. The Deacs are returning the ACC Offensive Player of the Year in senior Mia Schoenbeck, ACC Defensive Player of the Year in junior Mia Montag, and ACC Freshman of the year in sophomore Reabetswe Phume. Eight freshmen will join the Deacs for this upcoming season.
Head coach Jen Averill returns for her 35th season at Wake Forest, having led Wake Forest to 19 NCAA tournament appearances and three-straight NCAA titles from 2002 to 2004. Averill has been awarded nine ACC Coach of the Year awards, including the most recent 2025 season.
