MELBOURNE, Fla. - The No. 12 Wake Forest women's golf team will compete in its first action of the 2025 spring season, as the Demon Deacons travel to Melbourne, Fla. to compete in the Moon Golf Invitational at Suntree Country Club beginning Sunday, Feb. 16. Hosted by the University of Louisville, the three-day tournament features a field of 17 teams, including five ACC opponents and nine teams in the top-25.
The Deacs closed out the fall portion of their calendar with a win at the Charles Schwab Intercollegiate, with a pair of top-five finishes from Carolina Chacarra and Macy Pate, both of whom finished under par for the weekend.
Also of note, newcomer Chloe Kovelesky is set to make her team debut this Sunday for the Demon Deacons. The Florida native comes to Winston-Salem after an impressive junior career where she was named to the inaugural U.S. Junior National Team and champion of the 94th Florida Women's Amateur Championship.
Round one for the Deacons begins at 9:40 a.m. ET with No. 7 Florida State and Alabama.
Last Time Out
In their first time at the Suntree Country Club, the Demon Deacons saw then-freshman Macy Pate take charge, finishing the first day with three birdies in four holes and ending the weekend in the top-30. As a team, the squad faced adversity and inclement weather, offering this year as an opportunity to improve on last year's 12th place finish.

- Suntree Country Club's Classic Course was one of the first official tour stops for the Senior PGA Tour players through the eighties and the early nineties. Fairways, roughs and greens were renovated in 2015 with Celebration, and greens with Champion Bermuda. Although its ample fairways and generous greens provide inviting targets, the Classic golfer must also negotiate numerous bunkers, tree-lined fairways, and waterways throughout the course to achieve success.
