The Demon Deacons will look to secure their third-straight series against Clemson on Sunday.
The Demon Deacons (19-5, 7-1 ACC) struck first after junior Marek Houston launched a 450-foot solo home run in the top of the first inning. Houston's solo shot was his ninth homer of the season, tied for the most on the team.
The Deacs added another run in the second as junior Austin Hawke avoided the tag at the plate following a single by graduate student Matt Scannell.
Wake Forest exploded offensively in the third inning, plating eight runs. After loading the bases on a Jack Winnay single and two fielder's choices that allowed runners to reach from the Tigers, sophomore Javar Williams roped an RBI single to right field. On the very next pitch, catcher Jimmy Keenan Blasted a grand slam to the left-field bleachers to give the Deacs a 7-0 advantage.
Sophomore Kade Lewis closed out the scoring in the third inning with his second home run of the series, launching a three-run bomb over the right-center field wall to put the Deacs up by double-digit runs. Lewis, who homered in Friday's loss to the Tigers, finished the day with three hits and three RBIs while also extending his hit streak to 14 games.
With their three home runs, the Demon Deacons brought their season total to 49, which is the most in the ACC this season. The Deacs have also now hit a home run in all but one game this season, including each of their last nine games. During this nine-game stretch, Wake Forest has hit multiple home runs in seven of those games.
After the Tigers (22-3, 3-2 ACC) scored eight unanswered runs across the third and fifth innings, Hawke notched a two-RBI double in the top of the sixth to give the Demon Deacons a 12-8 lead.
Clemson tacked on two in the sixth to make it 12-10 before the Demon Deacon bullpen kept the Tigers off the board across the final three innings.
Graduate student Griffen Green and junior Joe Ariola combined for two innings of no-hit baseball during the seventh and eighth innings. Meanwhile, sophomore righthander Josh Gunther completed a four-out save after forcing a pop-up with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth.
In total, the trio combined for 3.1 innings of one-hit baseball and four strikeouts to secure the series-tying win.

- With six of the 12 runs the Demon Deacons scored this afternoon coming with two away in the inning, Wake Forest has now drove in 87 of their ACC-leading 230 RBI with two outs, led by 17 two-out RBI from Marek Houston and 16 from Kade Lewis.
"That's a great team win and just a really gutty win. Obviously, not how we drew it up. Anytime you race out to a 10-0 lead, it would be nice to save some bullpen pieces. [Matt Dallas] had six-up, six-down to start the game and then just lost the feel of the zone. I thought his stuff was really good today, but he just lost feel of the zone. We didn't get a lot of length from any of our relievers, but we got enough big pitches when we needed them and found a way to win. Austin Hawke with some really big two-out RBI, along with Kade Lewis and Matt Scannell. The difference in the game were those six, two-out RBI. It's a good team win and we're looking forward to playing baseball again tomorrow. " - Head Coach Tom Walter
