Wake Forest will return home to Leighton Courts next weekend to face off against Georgia Tech and Clemson.
DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 37 Wake Forest women's tennis team continued its weekend of top-10 Big Four matchups on Sunday afternoon, as the Demon Deacons (12-7, 2-4 ACC) fell to No. 7 Duke, 4-0.
Wake Forest dropped the doubles point after Duke (14-2, 6-0 ACC) took wins at both first and third doubles. Graduate student Anna Zhang and junior Jingyi Li were leading their match against Kimchi/Krug at second doubles (4-3) prior to the doubles point being clinched.
In singles, Zhang and fellow graduate student Makayla Mills claimed the only sets for the Demon Deacons. Zhang secured a 7-6 tiebreaker victory in the first set against Liv Hovde. The McKinney, Texas, native ultimately saw her match at second singles go unfinished, ending in a 7-6, 6-7, 1-1 deadlock.
Meanwhile, Mills, who was playing in just her second singles match of the season, bounced back from a first set loss to force a third set at sixth singles against Katie Codd (1-6, 6-4, 1-1).

From Coach Wyshner
"What a tremendous effort from our group today. We were without four of our 10 players today, and the six who could went out and played hard. We've really played better singles matches this weekend than we probably have at any point this year. If we can have another good week of practices and we get some players back for next Friday and Sunday, we should be primed for the last three weeks of the regular season and the postseason." - head coach Jeff Wyshner
