The Demon Deacons will look to bounce back on Sunday against No. 30 Clemson.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 40 Wake Forest women's tennis team returned home to Leighton Courts on Friday night, falling to No. 25 Georgia Tech, 4-0.
Graduate student Anna Zhang and junior Whitley Pate claimed the lone win of the day for the Deacs (12-8, 2-5 ACC), defeating Licht/Jesudason at second doubles (6-2). The duo, who played in their first match together since the match against Louisville earlier this month, remained undefeated as they improved to 12-0 this season with the victory.
Despite Georgia Tech (11-7, 5-3 ACC) sweeping singles play, multiple Demon Deacons claimed a set in their respective matches. Zhang picked up the first set at third singles, 6-4, before ultimately seeing her match against Kate Sharabura end in a tie during the final set (6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 5-5).
Meanwhile, freshman Kady Tannenbaum bounced back to force a third set at fourth singles, taking the second set in convincing fashion as her match against Given Roach ended at 5-7, 6-2, 3-5.

From Coach Wyshner
"Tough day today. We really needed a better doubles point in order to put ourselves in a better position to beat a top-25 team. Good fight in singles from everyone. It was just too tall of a hill to climb. Credit to Georgia Tech. They played well at every spot today. We have to regroup and get ready for Sunday against Clemson." - head coach Jeff Wyshner
