This marked Bresky’s third coach of the year award and first since 2016.

CHARLOTTE – Following one of the most dominant regular seasons in NCAA history, Wake Forest men's tennis head coach Tony Bresky has been named ACC Coach of the Year, as announced by the league office Thursday evening.

In addition to Bresky's accolade, the Demon Deacons had five members selected to All-ACC teams including singles nods for junior standout DK Suresh Ekamabram (first team) and graduate transfer Stefan Dostanic (second team).

In doubles, Suresh also landed on the first team alongside freshman Charlie Robertson, while sophomore Luca Pow and senior Luciano Tacchi garnered third team honors.

Tony Bresky - ACC Coach of the Year
Earning the award for the third time, Bresky has led the No. 1-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team to its fourth ACC regular season title as well as its first-ever perfect regular season at 33-0. The Demon Deacons are the first ACC program to finish the entire regular season undefeated since Virginia in 2013.

It also marked the third undefeated conference record for the Deacs, with the previous two also coming under Bresky in 2017 and 2019.

In February, he led the Deacs to their second ITA National Indoor Championship with thrilling 4-3 wins over current No. 3 Texas in the semifinals and No. 2 TCU in the championship match. In total, Wake Forest has beaten the remainder of the top five in the current ITA poll this season as well as six of the top 10.

Now with 34 wins, Bresky's squad has now tied the program record for most wins in a single season, previously set by the 2019 team. The Demon Deacons can break the record next week with a win in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

During his tenure at Wake Forest, Bresky has amassed 363 wins. Of note, early in 2023 with a victory over No. 6 Tennessee, Bresky became the winningest coach in program history, surpassing the legendary Jim Leighton.

Wake Forest's Team Success Under Bresky

  • ACC Tournament: 2016, 2018, 2019
  • ACC Regular Season: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2025
  • ITA National Team Indoor Championship: 2018, 2025
With Thursday's announcement, Wake Forest has now tallied 40 All-ACC honorees during the Bresky era.

DK Suresh Ekambaram - First Team All-ACC (Singles)
After becoming a singles All-American in the fall with an incredible run to the semifinals of the NCAA Singles Championships, Suresh has carried that momentum into dual match play this spring. The junior ranks third on the team with 15 wins, with a team-high eight of them coming against ranked opponents. His highest-ranked win of the season so far came on March 2 against Cal as he defeated No. 5 Carl Emil Overbeck in straight-sets (6-3, 6-4).

Suresh, currently ranked No. 9 nationally, has been ranked inside the top 10 all season and has reached as high as fifth. Of note, Thursday's nod marked the second All-ACC singles award for Suresh after he placed on the second team a season ago.

The Irvine, Calif.-native won the match (7-6[3], 5-7, 6-4) and clinched the Deacs' second-ever ITA indoor title.
