
Demon Deacons Conclude Strong Outing at VertKlasse Meet

Wake Forest will return to action next weekend at the Duke Invitational from April 10-12.
HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Wake Forest track & field team wrapped up its third outdoor meet of the 2025 outdoor season Saturday, as senior Isabella Gera and sophomore Samantha Heyison competed at the VertKlasse Meet hosted by High Point. 
Gera highlighted the day with a third-place finish in the women's shot put with a toss of 14.13m. The Greensburg, Pa.-native nearly cracked the top 10 in the discus as well (42.78m). This comes a day after she placed sixth in the hammer throw (51.38m).
Heyison, who was recently named to the USA National Team for the third-consecutive year, also competed in the discus (39.79m) and shot put (11.89m) alongside Gera. Her mark in the shot put set a new personal-best.
