Welcome to Wake Forest, Anya Santrac!
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest volleyball continues to make additions, as Anya Santrac has been added to the roster for the 2025 fall season, announced by head coach Jeff Hulsmeyer on Tuesday.
The Belgrade, Serbia native is set to join the Demon Deacons as a true freshman next school year. Santrac now makes a group of four incoming Wake Forest freshmen, as middle blocker Ivana Cvetkovic signed with the program last month while right-side hitter Sadie Poeck and middle blocker Kelis Hawkins made it official with the Deacs this past November.
"Anya has had an outstanding juniors career in Serbia and I am so grateful that she has agreed to join us here at Wake Forest," said Hulsmeyer. "The training she has received, and the level of competition she has matched up against in Europe, is an outstanding prep for this level of competition. She comes from an athletic family, with both parents having competed at the collegiate level in the United States and starting their family here, before returning to Serbia. Anya is an excellent student and has the work ethic and determination to be the best volleyball player possible. I look forward to seeing her with our team this fall."
Competing as a 6'1" outside hitter, Santrac has played for Red Star Volleyball Club, helping the program record several top finishes in events. Her personal accolades and team accomplishments include:
Why Wake?:
"I chose Wake Forest because of its high level of academics and volleyball program. I am truly honored to join a community that values hard work, integrity and personal growth. I am looking forward to working with and learning from my new coaches and teammates. I'm excited to grow as both an athlete and person during my time at Wake Forest." - Anya Santrac
