Program Record 23 Demon Deacons Placed on 2025 All-ACC Academic Track and Field Teams

The Demon Deacons have set a program record for All-ACC Academic Team selections each of the last three seasons.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the third consecutive season, the Wake Forest Track and Field teams have set a new program record for All-ACC Academic Team selections, as 23 Demon Deacons earned All-ACC Academic honors Friday afternoon, as announced by the league office.
With their 23 selections, the Deacs have now placed at least 20 student-athletes on the ACC Academic teams each of the last three seasons. In total, a program-record 13 Demon Deacons were selected on the men's side, while 10 earned honors on the women's side.
Of the 23 honorees, seven Deacs made their second-consecutive appearance on the list, including Isabella Gera, Jacob Goldberg, Rocky Hansen, Paul Specht, Charlie Sprott, Rynard Swanepoel, and Elizabeth Whaley, with both Goldberg and Whaley earning All-ACC Academic team honors for the past three seasons.
In addition, 16 Demon Deacons earned their first All-ACC Academic team selection, including Bryce Gilmore, Hunter Jones, JoJo Jourdon, Jackson Keefer, Aidan Ross, Wes Shipsey, Luke Tewalt, and Daniel Winter for the men's team, and Alli Boehm, Emma Douglass, Rylan Engels, Mackenzie Hart, Katherine Lawson, Angelina Perez, Julia Pinter, and Seren Rodgers for the women's team.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Outdoor Track and Field Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career.
In addition, student-athletes must have competed in the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and/or the NCAA Outdoor Championships during the most recent season.

Outdoor Season Highlights
Four Demon Deacons earned All-American honors at the NCAA Track and Field Championships, including sophomore Rocky Hansen earning First Team All-American honors following a fifth-place finish in the men's 5000m final.
During the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which was hosted at Kentner Stadium, the Deacs earned nine All-ACC honors, including multiple from senior Luke Tewalt.
There were several changes to the record book this season, including having five program records being broken. Senior Emma Douglass broke the program record in the women's 800m multiple times across three consecutive meets, including during the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships where she ran a 2:03.25 during her semifinal heat. The Wellington, New Zealand, native also broke the school record in the women's 1500m earlier in the season at the Duke Twilight on May 4.
